When Sam came to Cloudline Media in March 2026, he already had a website for his Essex drainage business.
The problem was that it was barely doing anything for him.
It was a basic one-page website, it did not properly explain the services he offered or have any clickable CTAs or lead funnels.
Most importantly, Sam told us it was generating no enquiries.
We rebuilt the website from the ground up.
Within three weeks, Sam had a new five-page website designed around his drainage services, completed work and clear routes for customers to make contact.
In the first four weeks after launch, it generated 3 genuine lead-form enquiries.
Sam confirmed that one of those first three enquiries became a paying customer.
The rebuild had proved the website could generate work.
In May 2026, we started SEO.

Fixing the Website Came First
The original website was not something we wanted to build an SEO campaign on top of.
Before worrying about rankings, we needed a website that properly represented the business and could turn visitors into enquiries.
The rebuild gave Sam:
- A professional five-page website
- Clearer coverage of his drainage services
- Stronger calls to action
- An on-page enquiry form
- Improved copy and page structure
- Proper sitemap and Google indexing
- A clearer customer journey
- Ongoing website management
The result was immediate.
Three lead-form enquiries arrived in the first month, after Sam’s previous website had generated none.
That gave us a much stronger foundation for the next stage.

SEO Started in May 2026
Once the new website had demonstrated that it could convert visitors, we started building its organic search presence.
The work has included:
- Detailed keyword research
- Competitor analysis
- Identifying commercially valuable drainage searches
- Informational content around profitable services such as drain lining
- Image optimisation and descriptive file naming
- Page-speed optimisation
- Fixing redirects and technical issues
- Ongoing Search Console and keyword monitoring
- Google Business Profile optimisation
- Ongoing Google review reply management
- Building location-relevant case studies around real jobs Sam has completed
The strategy is still developing.
We are now using real drainage projects to create useful case studies around both the type of work completed and the areas where Sam actually works.
That gives potential customers proof of his experience while also building stronger relevance around specific services and locations.

Search Visibility Increased More Than 4x
Because SEO began in May 2026, April gives us a useful picture of how the rebuilt website was performing immediately before focused SEO started.
April 2026
- 1,137 Google Search impressions
- 23 organic clicks
Latest available 30 days
- 4,696 Google Search impressions
- 28 organic clicks
That represents approximately:
- 313% growth in search impressions
- 22% growth in organic clicks
The website is therefore generating more than four times the Google Search visibility it was immediately before the SEO campaign began.
Across the wider Search Console period from April to October 2026, the website recorded:
- 225 organic clicks
- 23,783 search impressions
Rank tracking is also now identifying visibility across hundreds of different search terms.
Showing Up for Searches That Can Turn Into Work
The growth is not just coming from irrelevant impressions.
The website is appearing for commercially useful drainage searches including terms around:
- Drain repair
- Drain repair near me
- Drain repairs Essex
- Drain cleaners near me
- Blocked drains
- CCTV drain surveys
- Drain surveys Canvey Island
- Blocked drains Canvey Island
- Drain repairs Canvey
- Drain unblocking Canvey
- Drain repair Southend
- Blocked drains Benfleet
- Drain repairs Hadleigh
- Drain repairs Rochford
This is important because it reduces the website’s reliance on people already knowing who Sam is.
SEO gives the business another route to market by putting it in front of people who are actively looking for drainage help.
There is still considerable opportunity to improve many of these positions, which is why the campaign remains ongoing.

27 Further Genuine Enquiries Since SEO Began
The lead-form data gives us another useful measure.
The rebuilt website generated its first 3 genuine enquiries in April, before focused SEO began.
From May 2026 onwards, the website recorded a further:
27 genuine lead-form enquiries
That is after removing obvious spam and marketing solicitations from the data.
The enquiries cover real drainage requirements including:
- Drain repairs
- Blocked drains
- CCTV surveys
- Drainage investigation
- Pipe and drainage problems
- Drainage installation
- Excavation and repair work
We cannot claim that all 27 enquiries came directly from organic search.
Customers can reach the website through Google Search, Google Business Profile, referrals, social media or other sources.
What we can say is that the website has continued generating genuine drainage enquiries while its organic search visibility has grown substantially.

Google Business Profile Is Generating Actions Too
SEO has not been limited to the website.
We also started optimising Sam’s Google Business Profile and now help manage areas such as review responses and ongoing profile activity.
Between May and October 2026, the profile recorded:
- 2,030 profile views
- 136 Business Profile interactions
- 103 website clicks
- 32 calls
Google Search accounted for the majority of profile discovery, with additional visibility coming through Google Maps.
The profile is also appearing around searches such as:
- Drain
- Best pipe relining near me
- Drain cleaner
- Drain cleaners Canvey Island
- Drain cleaners near South Benfleet
Those 32 calls are particularly important because they sit outside the website lead-form figures.
We cannot assume every call became a customer, and there may be overlap between people who called and later used the website.
But they show that the wider search presence is creating additional routes for potential customers to contact the business.

Commercial Impact Without Inventing an ROI
We do not have Sam’s full conversion data, so we are not going to claim that the SEO campaign has generated a specific amount of revenue.
There is one conversion we can confirm.
Of the first three enquiries generated immediately after the website rebuild, Sam told us that one became a paying customer.
Since SEO began, another 26 genuine form enquiries have been recorded, alongside 32 calls from the Google Business Profile.
The potential value of those opportunities varies significantly.
A simple drain blockage can be a relatively small job, while drain repairs, CCTV investigations, excavation and pipe relining can become substantially larger projects.
Without knowing exactly which enquiries converted and the final invoice value of each job, assigning a precise ROI would create a number we cannot properly prove.
The stronger evidence is the change in the underlying acquisition system:
zero enquiries from the old website became immediate enquiries from the rebuild, followed by continued lead generation as search visibility expanded.
